Another month has come and gone but October was somewhat of a special month for me. I turned the big 30 and have to say I was spoilt rotten. I have so many favourites from the month but I have managed to narrow it down to a very small amount so you don’t get too bored. If you want to see what I got for my birthday you can have a look at my Haul here, there is plenty to lust after.

So let’s get on with it:

Luminous Silk Georgio Amani

First on my Favourites list would have to be the infamous Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which I reviewed here. I cannot believe I am only trying this now. It has to be my favourite foundation of all time. It gives your skin an amazing finish that is both luminous and radiant. Like I said in my review of this I feel that this has amazing coverage, lasts all day long and makes your skin look perfected , even if it isn’t. You need to try this! It is a winner in my eyes. I am not wearing this everyday because it is expensive at €43 a bottle (remember if travelling you can get it duty free in the airport) so I am using the L’Oreal True Match during the day as this is supposed to be a dupe for it. So far I love the L’Oreal too but it definitely isn’t as amazing as this one. I feel this is definitely worth the price tag.

30th lancome

Next up is another makeup item but this time it is a mascara. I find it very difficult to find a mascara that I fall in love with. I don’t have amazingly long lashes as it is so I don’t see much of an impact with the majority of mascaras. Well until now that is. I picked up the Lancôme Grandoise Mascara while on holidays recently and I didn’t expect much but my god was I surprised. It is amazing to say the least. It is designed to give the look of fanned out lashes with lots of volume and length and it definitely lives up to these claims. It wears so well, never smudges or flakes and it is the blackest of black. What more could you want?! People have told me I look like I have fake lashes on when I wear this. SCORE!! This is €30 which is very pricey but I would definitely repurchase this when I run out.

makeup geek

We are both huge fans of Makeup Geek and their eyeshadows in particular. I have five neutral shades to share with you all today. I have worn this combination almost all month and I am mad about it. It is simple and natural on the eyes and it can be brought from daytime to evening very easily by adding a little sparkle or deepening the crease. What are they? Well let me show you:

Oct fav makeup geek swatches

I have an addiction to transition shades and for me Makeup Geek do some of the best. For lighter skin I love Peach Smoothie, it is a matte light peachy beige shade with lovely warm undertones. For darker skin I tend to use Creme Brulee which is another matte shade but  is more of a light brown shade with some warm peach undertones. Both are beautiful and I use both in my crease and slightly above just before applying any eyeshadow. I also use the shades on a big fluffy blending brush to blend out any harsh lines I have made when creating a smoky eye. The next shade I am in love with is Latte, this is a medium brown matte shade which has a beautiful reddish golden undertone. I love this in my crease to add some depth to any look. I don’t think this is overly pigmented so it is lovely as a base shade for the crease as it adds depth to whatever crease colour you put on top. My favourite crease colour EVER has to be Cocoa Bear. This is truly beautiful. It is a medium to dark reddish brown shade. It is another matte shade. This is so pretty in the crease and under the eye also, especially on blue eyes. The red in this shade makes blue eyes POP!! My final Makeup Geek Shadow for this month is Beaches & Cream. This is a very soft creamy peach demi matte shade. I use this all over my lid and the contrast between this and the Latte and Cocoa Bear in the crease is to die for. I love the look this creates and have worn it for most of the month of October. I am sure by now you all know about Makeup Geek Shadows but if not you can buy them on their website. They are sooo beautiful.

Liz Earle pefume

Another absolute love of mine this month is the Liz Earle Botanical Essence No 100 Eau De Parfum. When I first got this I just couldn’t stop smelling it. It smells so luxurious and expensive but yet very feminine at the same time. It has a very obvious floral scent to it. Some of the notes are Damask rose, orange flower and Indian Jasmine. Anything with Jasmine in it and I am sold. There are lots of other notes in this including sandalwood, cypress and lots more but really all we need to know is that the combination of different fragrances works together to create something so elegant and alluring that it would catch anyone’s attention. I also think this is a great all rounder fragrance. I know myself and Gemma love it but also older women who I know would always comment on it when I wear it. I love the fact that it is 89% dervived from natural extracts so you are getting the pureness of the ingredients while you wear it. I think it’s great gift to receive under the Christmas tree or for a birthday!! This is not available from the Irish site but it can be bought here on the UK site for £47.

Glamglow Mask

My final beauty favourite this month would have to be the Glamglow Youthmud mask which I have wanted to try since it was launched but I couldn’t justify paying the price. You know the saying “You get what you pay for”? Well that is definitely true in this instance. This mask is definitely top of it’s game and improves your skin from first use. My skin gets both dehydrated and acne prone so I thought the Youthmud would be best as this seemed like the most all rounded mask. It claims to exfoliate the skin, soften fine lines and wrinkles while at the same time brighten the skin. It definitely stands up to its claims and I believe the more you use it the better the results so I look forward to seeing this. After first use my skin felt tighter, it looked radiant and my makeup went on so much smoother. Isn’t that what we all want?! I picked this up at the Beauty show at the beginning of October and it cost €50 for a 50ml which I think is the average price although I have seen it in stores for as much as €65.

30th Michael Kors watchFinally, my last favourite of the month would have to be my amazing Michael Kors Skylar Green and Gold watch. Who wouldn’t like this?? I was so lucky to get this for my Birthday and really have fallen in love with it. I love that it is a little different than the other Michael Kors watches on the market and the green face gives it that little something extra. It is so feminine and stylish and I definitely wear it with pride. I know I am one lucky lady and I am soooo grateful.

So there you have it! My favourite picks for the month of October. This year really is going by super quick. It won’t be long before we are doing our favourite products of 2014!!

Have a lovely day everyone,

Lots of hugs and kisses
