I have seen many of my favourite bloggers raving about the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF50+ and when I seen it was available on QVCUK I had to give it a go.
This CC Cream was developed with plastic surgeons and it claims to give you a full, flawless, perfect coverage while protecting your skin with SPF50+ UVA/UVB broad spectrum physical sunscreen. Sounds great? Well that is not all that It Cosmetics claim to do with this product. This CC Cream is said to increase skins hydration levels by 179%, smooth the skins texture and enhance the skins brightness all the while never creasing or cracking once applied!!
How does it do all this? Well, it’s infused with an advanced anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E that work in harmony to diffuse the look of wrinkles, minimize pores and give you a more radiant, supple and flawless-looking complexion.
I can honestly say I have never seen a company claim so much about one product. Can you see now why I was so curious to try this out?! Let’s see if I thought this stood up to the huge claims….
The first thing I have to say is this is not a full coverage product. It does give a medium coverage and can be built up in areas to have slightly heavier coverage but no matter what I do and how I apply it I cannot get it to be 100% full coverage.
I do love the level of protection this gives. It is brilliant to use all year round but in particular in the Summer months when we all need that extra bit of protection. I love this for on holidays too as you know you are completely sorted when it comes to SPF and you can look great while keeping safe. The only issue I have is that if you powder over this it would be hard to reapply it to ensure all day protection.
I definitely see a lovely radiance to my skin when I use this (see above photo for how this looks just after application and powder). It stands up to the claim of “your skin but better” for sure. My skin glows and looks so healthy when I wear this. I know I mentioned above that this is not full coverage and I think I prefer the coverage the way it is because it makes this product look even more natural as you can see some of your own skin coming through. If this was really full coverage it wouldn’t be as natural looking. Lets leave the full coverage for the foundations and let the CC Creams give us that natural glow we all lust after!
The best thing for me is that you definitely don’t need a moisturiser or separate SPF when using this. It gives instant hydration and really works well to keep my dehydrated skin feeling comfortable all day long. Plus this speeds up my morning routine immensely and cuts down on the cost of using lots of other expensive products along side this. In fact I have found that this doesn’t work as well when there is a moisturiser underneath it so definitely apply this to bare, freshly cleansed skin for best results.
I adore the packaging. The pump is so easy to use and only dispenses the amount you need. The squeezy tube makes it easy to know when you are running low too. And it looks so pretty! A nice added touch!
I cannot say I have noticed any pore minimising or difussing of wrinkles when using this. I would say that this can tend to emphasise my pores even more depending on if I wear something underneath it or what powder I use over it. It can be a little temperamental in that way.
I do have a question over the longevity too. It does last well on my skin but it tends to wear off around my nose and chin area and it can also cake on my cheeks a bit. Because of this I do powder over this. I wish I could leave this powder free as it looks much nicer when not powdered but needs must and all that!!! Take a look at the above picture to see how this wore off these areas after around 5 hours wear.
Overall, I do like this product. I use it only during the day because I like a heavier, more flawless look at night. It does fall down for me when it comes to not meeting the full coverage claims (although I kinda prefer it this way for a CC Cream). The wearing off around my nose and chin and the extra large pores I tend to get when using this is a let down for me . Other than that I am pretty much happy with this and would recommend it especially to those with normal to drier skins. Oily skins may have issues with this as it is very creamy and nourishing which may end up a tad bit too oily in places. Plus oily skins definitely don’t want to enhance their pore size even more! With all that in mind I would rate this product 3.5/5 when used on the right skin type.
The shade I use is Medium. This looks pretty dark in the above swatch but it matches my NC25 skin perfect.
For the moment this can be bought on QVCUK. Unfortunately it is only available in a set with other products for £65. However, a little birdy told me that this will be hitting Irish shores very soon so stay tuned. I will definitely be updating you all on my social media when this comes to Ireland.
I have tried other bits from this brand which I will review over the coming weeks so stay tuned for more!
What have you tried from It Cosmetics? I would love to know what you thought of other items from the range!
