I absolutely love doing these type of posts!! I am always happy for the end of one month and the start of a new one so I can tell you all what I have been trying out during the month. I have a fair amount to get through so let me get right onto it….
What I liked…..
First up is the Bioderma Sensibo H20 Micellar Water. I have tried tonnes of these types of cleansing waters but genuinely nothing comes close to this one. For anyone that doesn’t know what a Micellar water is they are basically cleansing and makeup removing waters. There are so many on the market now but the Bioderma was the original one and I have to say it is by far the best. It removes makeup so easily and doesn’t dry out the skin like others I have found. I use this before my cleanser to remove my makeup. It is a great replacement for those dread face wipes that so many people use. I will do a full post on this very soon but for now I want you to know that this is a great buy and definitely one to check out. It is available in three different sizes 100ml €5.50, 250ml €11.50 and 500ml €16.00 and is available in selected pharmacies nationwide.
I never tend to feature hair care on my blog simply because I have naturally curly hair and I don’t want to bore you with the products I use when most people have straighter hair but I have recently come across one product that I think will suit everyone. The Umberto Gianni “Frizzi when nothing else will do intense recovery mask with Argan Oil” is amazing. Yep, a seriously long winded name but it is so true. Frizzy hair comes with curls and I struggle to find a conditioner that is intense enough to hydrate my hair but lightweight so my hair won’t get weighted down. This mask ticks all the boxes. I tend to use it every time I wash my hair and leave it on for 2 to 3 minutes and I love the results I am getting. It is less than €9 which is a great price for such a decent product. It contains Argan oil so not only is it really hydrating and smoothing but it smells divine. Check it out the next time you are in Boots. I think this is the only place that stock it!!
Now on to some makeup loveliness and what I loved during the month….
NYC (New York Color) is one of those inexpensive brands that I see all the time in my local pharmacy and Penneys and buy the odd thing from. The show stopper from the brand though has to be their Skin Smoothing Bronzer in the shade Sunny. This is the bronzer of all bronzers and at only €2.99 it is an absolute bargain. It is matte so it is perfect for using as a contour shade as well as a bronzer.
The shade itself is perfect. It is not too orangey and not too ashy so a nice choice for a lot of skin tones including lighter ones. I think this is a beautiful shade for paler skins to contour with as it is very natural looking. The powder itself blends effortlessly so it can be applied in a hurry and still look fantastic. Another must have for me….
The Sleek MakeUP I-Divine eyeshadow palettes are another firm favourite of mine. They are only €9.99 for 12 shadows which is a super price. This month I have been loving the Vintage Romance palette. It has a mixture of pretty neutral golds as well as some eye catching deeper purples and blues.
All the shades are shimmery with some glitter in them apart from one shade which I like to use a darker transition shade in the crease. I am loving this palette for creating a purple smoky eye. Sleek is becoming much more widely available than it was in the past. It is available in selected pharmacies and I get mine in Boots in Liffey Valley.
Another inexpensive makeup brand that I love is Wet N Wild. They recently launched lots of new shades in their Mega Last lipstick range and of course I had to get them to try them out for you all. I love neutral lip colours so the one that really stood out for me was the shade “In The Flesh”. Seriously, the most perfect shade EVER. It is a medium pink shade with some brown under tones. It is a little darker than my own natural lip colour and a little browner so it is the perfect option when I want to wear lippie but nothing too obvious. These lipsticks are only €2.99 and available in Dunnes and Penneys and some pharmacies also.
Now for a more expensive makeup product. I had to throw one in for good luck!! The Makeup Forever HD blush in the shade 215. This is a cream to powder blush that is designed with the highest technology to be invisible both under a HD lenses and to the naked eye. They literally melt into the skin so look extremely natural and flush on the skin. I tend to use cream blushes on top of foundation and set with powder but this one I use on top of powder as a final touch to my cheeks. Normally the “rule” is to never apply cream over powder as it tends to cake but this one definitely does not do that. It is simply beautiful whatever way you apply it.
The shade itself is the perfect mix between pink and coral. I love this shade as it is lovely all year round and on most skin types. Lighter skins should apply sparingly though to avoid those aunt sally cheeks!! These are a tad bit on the pricey side at €28 for one but they are well worth the splurge in my eyes. You can buy them direct from the MUFE shop on Clarendon street Dublin or online here.
What I loathed…..
Finally I always have to finish off with something that I just did not like during the month. I bet you can all guess what it is. I did a review of the Cosmetix range earlier this month and gave my 100% honest review. I did not get on with their High Definition Matte & Cover 3 in 1 foundation. I won’t bore you with the details but if you really want to know why I didn’t like it then check out my review here.
Wow I just realised that most of what I am liking this month is all from drugstore, inexpensive brands. I go through phases but I do love me some drugstore makeup!!
What are your favourites from the month? Or even better tell me below what you were not enjoying this month or any products you found that you were really disappointed in.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by.
