Monthly favourites are a love of mine and I really enjoy having a read of them on other peoples blog’s. With the aim of bringing something a tad bit different here is what I liked, loved and also loathed during the past month.
What I loved……..
To start on a positive note the spot for my top product of the month would have to go to the Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. This is just fantastic. It gives a beautiful curl to the lashes that lasts all day long. And best of all there is no clumping with this product. It is on the higher end of the price spectrum at €26 but I will definitely be repurchasing.
The beauty is in the brush. Benefit claims that the Hook n Roll brush “grabs, seperates, lifts and curls” and I have to say I couldn’t agree more. This does it’s job seriously well….the results are beautiful curled and fluttery lashes.
Becca is a brand I only tried out recently and I have to say, what I have tried so far are all very impressive. The mineral blush in Flowerchild has to be one of the nicest blushes I have ever tried. It is a beautiful pinky peach shade that gives warmt to the skin with a pop of colour to really brighten most complexions.
Best of all these blushes contain lots of lovely skincare ingredients so they are nice and hydrating on the skin. They are expensive at €33 a pop but I do think they are worth the splurge….just saying!!!
What I liked……….
I have switched up my bronzers a little this month but the brush I use to apply has remained constant. The Real Techniques blush brush is such a great brush. I do think it is way too big for applying blush but definitely great for applying bronzer or a very light dusting of a contour shade to add definition to your face.
I spoke a lot about the Rimmel foundations in my recent post. The one that I have used mostly this month is the Lasting Finish Nude in shade 200 Soft Beige. I really am enjoying this foundation.
This gives a stunning sheen to your skin but without looking glittery or too shiny. I always get compliments on my skin when I wear this as it makes you look like you are naturally glowing as opposed to being packed with highlighter.
Now for the product I really did not like this month . This is a real must have amongst makeup artists but it is just one I am not a fan of. I have tried this several times and am never happy with the results it gives me.
Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack when compared to other gel liners on the market does not perform well enough for me. I feel it isn’t as black as I would like it to be(the below picture is three layers) and it definitely is not waterproof so does not last in the waterline very long.
At €19 it isn’t the cheapest and I think other less expensive ones such as the Maybelline Studio gel liner is much darker and lasts alot longer. Another amazing alternative is Inglot’s Gel liner in number 77 and Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes. All really amazing liners that last for hours, even in the waterline.
Not to leave you all on a negative note, the last of my favourites this month would have to be the new Body Shop Green Tea collection. I love the Body Shop products in general, especially their body butters and this one is the perfect scent for the Spring time.It is so fresh and invigorating that makes applying this after my shower in the morning an absolute dream.
My absolute favourite from the range though is the Green Tea Bath Salts. These are soooo yummy and makes bath time a very enjoyable and pampering experience. The concept is really cool too. They have a little tea strainer with them and you add your salts to the strainer and leave it to fragrance and dispense the salts into your bath. The aroma is to die for and although it is fresh I find it really relaxing. You HAVE to check this range out.
So there you have it, a round up of what I have been liking, loving and loathing in the month of March. What products stand out to you for the past month? Leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you.
Have a lovely day and remember BE HAPPY!!!
