Wow!!! Another month has passed. May has been one of the craziest months of my life. I won’t go into it as I wouldn’t know where to begin but instead I will share with you some of my top picks for the months as well as something I just didn’t get along with.

I have so many things that I LOVED during the month so I will tell you about those first..

Since I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade (review here) I have literally used nothing else on my brows….well until now that is.

May 2015 Favs Eylure Brow Palette

The Eylure Brow Palette in Dark Brown (€12.99) has massively impressed me. I thought at the beginning this would be way too dark for me but it is actually a great match. This palette contains a brow wax, a powder for filling in the brows and a highlight powder. So far I have tried them all but tend to use the powder the most to shape and define my brows. My natural brows are very sparse and light in colour but this does wonders at making them look a lot fuller and more defined.

May 2015 Favs Sleek Brow Perfector

I then set this with the Sleek Brow Perfector in Dark Brown which costs €6.49. I really find this brow gel adds extra volume to my brows and seriously once this stuff is applied my brows are in place for the day. I would definitely recommend this combo if you are looking to add some extra depth and thickness to your brows.

My next love of May would have to be one of the newest additions to the Benefit They’re Real Mascara gang. The blue shade, cutely named beyond blue is an absolute show stopper. I brought no other mascara with me on holidays and it was beautiful during the day for a subtle hint of colour as well as a great way of jazzing up my evening look.

May 2015 Favs Benefit They're Real beyond blue

It is a true blue shade so not for the faint hearted but I have to say I absolutely adore it and will be wearing this all summer long. The only down fall is, like all the they’re real products, you cannot get the bloody thing off at night. Great for staying put all day long but definitely not the easiest to remove. There is a special remover you can buy from the range which I really need to get my hands on. These mascaras cost €26. Unfortunately these are not available to buy just yet as I was lucky enough to get an exclusive look at them but once they launch I will be sure to shout it from the roof tops…a little birdie tells me they launch in July….stay tuned!

Soltan’s BB Cream is another one that surprisingly impressed me during the month. I love full coverage foundations so I didn’t expect to love this but I actually really do.

May 2015 favs Boots Soltan BB Cream

It gives a decent amount of coverage, doesn’t look greasy or oily on the skin like some other BB creams do and the SPF 50 in it really kept my skin very well protected while I was away. I don’t tan on my face as I have pigmentation and don’t want it to get any worse so this really helped keep the sun away from my face. I did get a slight tan through it but very little and I didn’t burn at all. I also didn’t need to constantly keep topping this up during the day, it lasted so well on my skin. I would highly recommend it. This costs only €8.50 for a 50ml and is only available from Boots.

Now for some skincare. Everyone knows by now that I love the brand Thalgo and obsess over their Collagen Cream (review here) but my skin became very dehydrated lately and so with the advice from Elaine in Thalgo I popped along to Femme Fatale salon in Lucan Village and they recommended some products to me. I bought a lovely gift set which contained a full size Hydra Marine Serum, a full size Hydra Marine 24 hr cream and some samples of the concentrate from the range.

May 2015 Favs Thalgo Hydra Marine serum

All of these products are designed to hydrate the skin while creating a radiant complexion. Before using these my skin was having serious breakouts but yet my skin was feeling extremely dry and it was only when Elaine told me that the dehydration was causing my acne to come to a head that it all made sense. So the combination of these amazing products with lots of water really helped clear up what I felt was the worst breakout I have had in a long time.

May 2015 Favs Thalgo Hydra Marine 24 Hour Cream

I am so glad I asked for advice instead of just packing my skin with harsh acne fighting products. I would have ended up in a much worse state. The Serum is €48 for 30ml, the cream is €44 for 50ml and the concentrate is €38 for 7. I got the two full size products and three of the concentrates for €85 so I definitely saved a few quid buying it this way. I will have a full review of this product coming soon but just so you know for the moment these products have changed my skin so much…just another reason I adore the Thalgo brand.

To finish off today’s post I want to tell you about a product which I didn’t like that much at all.I had high hopes for Mac bronzing powder in the shade Bronze but I am really disappointed.

May 2015 Favs Mac Bronzer

It is very glittery and has a really obvious red undertone to it. This might of been ok for contouring but because there is so much glitter in it it just looks muddy and awful on my skin. It might be ok on darker skin tones but the lighter shade was just too light for me so I had to go with this one. Next time I will just stick to the Mineral Skinfinish in Give me Sun, it’s a safer bet for sure.

So there you have it, the products I loved and loathed for May 2015. I did a lot of shopping in Orlando so be warned, over the next few weeks you are going to see a lot of American brand products.

What are your top product picks for May? If you have a blog please leave the link below. I love reading other peoples favourites posts.

Thanks for stopping by and also a huge thank you for sticking with me while I took some time out. Hopefully I will be back in my blogging stride in no time.

Take care and I hope June is a great month for you all
