Sooooo….as you all probably know by now I recently visited Florida. While I was there I wanted to pick up some makeup which I couldn’t really get over here (without ordering online) so I did just that. I bought some from the drugstore which happened to be Walgreens which was the closest to me and also I quickly grabbed some bits from Sephora before I headed to the airport. I won’t go too much into detail as there is a heck of a lot of stuff but if anyone wants more info or a review on anything I feature below then feel free to let me know.
I will start off with the drugstore products……………..
I have watched many Youtube videos where the L’oreal Miracle Blur was used and I lusted after it. There is a similar product available here but nothing beats the original.
Of course I had to try the infamous Covergirl Outlast stay fabulous foundation and when I seen they had just released a luminous version I was all over that too. I also liked the look of the Neutrogena healthy skin makeup when I seen it on some American blogs so that was purchased too….it had to be done.
When I new I was going to America I knew I wanted to get a Maybelline Fit me Foundation Stick in a darker shade as I love the look of these for cream contouring. You can only buy really pale shades here so I took the opportunity and got a dark shade while on holidays. So far I bloody well love this.
I needed a new powder while over there so I picked up the Milani Face Powder and then later seen the Neutrogena SkinClearing mineral powder so I thought I would try that out too….it is meant to have really great coverage.
Of course when I seen the Milani stand I had to go straight to the baked blushes. I have tried the shade Luminoso and love it so really wanted to try the others in the range. I bought four…Rose D’Oro, Bellissimo Bronze, Berry Amore and Delizioso Pink. Cannot wait to give these some love!
I seen that Milani also did some fab matte blushes which I have heard some bloggers raving about so I picked up two of those in the shades Tea Rose and Coral Cove. They are soooo pretty on. I loved the look of this illuminating face powder in Beauty’s Touch too. How beautiful is that?
I know I bought A LOT of Milani stuff but I knew I couldn’t get it in Ireland so I took advantage. I grabbed two bronzers. One is the bronzer XL which is a matte bronzer with two different shades so you can customise and I also got the amazing Tantastic face and body baked bronzer which is like that J-Lo glow in a powder form. I am obsessed.
Next up is not Milani you will be glad to know. This time it is some Wet n Wild. We all love this brand here in Ireland but they have a much larger selection in the states. I just picked up this highlight and two lippies in V.I.Pink and Fergie Daily. I haven’t tried them yet but if their Mega last Lippies are anything to go by I will be very impressed. These three items are from the Fergie Centerstage collection.
I just picked up some random lipsticks and glosses too just to give them a go. I love the Rimmel Apocalips and simply because they have another name in the states I had to buy a Rimmel Show Off….total makeup addict I know!!
I also picked up the L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadows in Bronzed Taupe and Iced Latte. I love these as they are almost like a pressed pigment and give amazing shine, longevity and pigmentation. What more could we want? I wish I bought more of these but I think some of the range is available here.
Everyone raves about the Maybelline Eyestudio quads and I can see why. These one in Copper Chic is absolutely amazing and great for blue eyes as the copper tones really make them pop. These shadows are seriously buttery too.
On the last day of my holiday I did a quick dash to Sephora and literally grabbed whatever I thought I might like or had wanted for ages. I know you can buy the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer here but I just hadn’t had a minute to pick it up before leaving on holidays so I decided to check it out. Wow is all I can say….definitely a review coming on this one once I use it a little more.
I really really wanted the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour palette but it was literally sold out anywhere I looked so I decided to opt for this Too Faced Cocoa Contour one. I love their bronzer for years so I knew I would get on with this. You get a matte highlight, a matte contour shade, a matte bronzer, a glittery highlight and a mini contour brush. The smell of this palette alone makes me love it….Yummy!
I also got two things from Tarte Cosmetics. The first was the Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation which I was always intrigued to try. I haven’t used it much yet but I will definitely let you know when I do as I know it is available on QVC so I won’t be teasing you too much as you can easily get hold of it now.
I also bought one of their infamous blushes. Again a lot of them were sold out but I managed to get a shade I wanted for ages. The shade Fearless is just the perfect pinched cheek look. I just love how these blushes look on the skin.
Another that I wanted for ages was the Smashbox Double Exposure palette and yep you can get this here but I just wanted to treat myself while on holidays. Seriously, how pretty is this palette?! There are 14 shadows in this palette but they can be used both wet and dry to create different finishes so you basically get 28 shadows. Happy Days.
Another Too Faced product I was so intrigued to try out was their “Better than sex mascara”. This stuff is so nice and makes my lashes look absolutely amazing. Keep your eyes peeled for a review soon.
My final item was this really cool double ended lippie from Bite Beauty. I wanted to try something from this range and wasn’t sure what and I think this was a good place to start. One end has a lovely neutral mauve colour and a pink shade on the other. This is my new perfect handbag companion.
So there you go, this is everything I got on my recent trip to Florida. I know I got a huge amount of stuff but it has to be done right? What are your favourite America brands? Have you tried any of the above?
Thanks so much for reading this HUGE post. Until next time…….
