Note Cosmetics is no stranger to global success. It has built a large following in both Europe and Asia and recently we were lucky enough to have it added to our many new launches here in Ireland. The creators of Note Cosmetics pride themselves on enhancing rather than covering people’s features. From this statement alone I was expecting a very natural range of products that is full of ingredients that have some skincare benefits too. I most definitely wasn’t wrong here. This is exactly what the brand is all about. However, they do also claim that their products are long wearing, with rich textures and high quality products. I have reviewed some products from the range and here are my thoughts:

First up is the Mineral Foundation. This is described as a Natural Healthy Glow foundation that is free from parabens. It is described as a high concealing texture that creates a flawless look while illuminating the skin. It is suitable for all skin types. It is also said to be non-comedogenic so it won’t clog pores. This foundation costs €12.95.

I really like this foundation. The texture is very rich, it blends quiet easily on my skin and it definitely gives a pretty decent coverage. The shade I have (403) is too dark for me but when I mixed it with a lighter shade I was delighted with the finish. This lasted well on my skin too once I primed. I cannot say it is the best foundation I have ever tried but for me it is one I would use on a daily basis as it gives enough coverage and a nice finish to the skin. The tube packaging is really user friendly and although it is nothing to fancy it does it’s job well. You get 35ml in each tube. I have normal, dehydrated skin and this is demi-matte on me so I do think oilier skins would get on well with this foundation too.

The next product I tried is the Bronzing Powder. This is said to provide a healthy tanned look to the skin and as it contains Vitamin E this is meant to “feed” the skin. The first thing I noticed was how huge this powder was. You get 20g of product but the packaging is absolutely huge, probably too big if I am honest. The powder itself is so finely milled. The shade 20 which I have is perfect for a very natural glow.

It is slightly orange in tone so I wouldn’t use this as a contour shade. It also has some slight shimmer particles so again not great for contouring but as a bronzer I would definitely recommend this. One bit of advice though is use a very small amount. As this is so finely milled it can pick up lots of product on the brush and you will apply too much product without even knowing. Trust me, it happened me twice. This bronzer retails for €15.95.

Note Cosmetics also have a range of eyeshadows. The ones I tried came in this cute little palette with 5 individual shadows. This palette is available in 5 different shade ranges and the one I have is obviously the green one (103). I have to say first off green eyeshadow wouldn’t be something I would wear regularly, I am much more of a neutral gal but for the purpose of review I did try them out several times.

Although these do have decent pigmentation there are others on the market that would be a lot more pigmented. However, in saying that these definitely are not a bad option if you want something a little more subtle. They don’t need a lot of layering when applying to the eyes and they do tend to last very well once your eyelids are primed before use. I love the shade range in the palettes. They have everything you need to create a nice eye look and some of the lighter shades are beautiful to wear alone during the day. These cost €14.95 for 5 shadows.

The perfect lash mascara is probably my least favourite from the products I have tried. The brush is too thin for my liking and it doesn’t give me enough volume. It does however lengthen my lashes. This for me would only be used on my bottom lashes or if I am looking for a more natural look. I like my lashes full of volume so this just doesn’t work for me. This mascara costs €8.95.

The Intense Look eye pencil however isn’t half bad. It is super creamy, jet black and works great both to line the eyes and in the waterline. I love using this to line my upper lash line as I can then blend this out and create a beautiful smoky eye. It doesn’t last all day on my waterline but it does last for a few hours. This gets a big thumbs up from me. It will set you back €7.95.

The lip products from Note Cosmetics have to be my favourites from the range. Although the shades I have don’t suit me very well I know that the formulations and pigmentation are amazing. The Rich Colour Lipsticks are so creamy and pigmented. They feel super comfortable on the lips and my lips actually look more moisturised after using them thanks to the Argan Oil and Cocoa Butter. These are definitely a winner for me. Although the colour doesn’t last all day it does last for several hours before touch up is required. These lippies cost €7.95 and worth every cent.

The MatteMoist Lipgloss are just as good. They are so hydrating this time thanks to the Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E. They do claim to be a matte lip product but I did not think they were matte, infact I found they had a pretty decent sheen to them, even when they dried. I honestly cannot fault them though. These are some of the most pigmented, non drying lip products I have tried out in a while. These again are so reasonably priced at only €7.95. The shades I have in these lip products are 15 Deep Orchide in the lipstick and 406 Sweet Heart in the MatteMoist Lipgloss. I really want to try some of the nude shades in the range because I think they will be ones I would get lots of use from.

Overall, I think this brand has some fab products. Yes, some of them I am not a fan of but the products that are good are exceptionally good, in particular the lip products. I do like the brands packaging. It’s heavy duty, yet sleek and not too fussy. I also adore the smell of all the products. Their gentle, calming scent really ties in well with the nourishing, skin friendly ethos of the brand.

These are available in limited stockists at the moment but they are available to buy online from Sam McCauleys and from CH Pharmacy and for a full list of stockists you can check out their Facebook page . The range is priced from €4.95 to €19.95.

What do you think of the brand? Have you tried much from Note Cosmetics or is there anything that tickles your fancy after seeing this post?

Overall, I would have to rate this range as 4/5 but the lip products simply have to get 5/5 because they are that good.

Have a lovely day
