In recent months my Mac lust list has gotten bigger and bigger and so recently I decided to take the plunge and buy some of the stuff I wanted to try out for the last while! Although even after this trip there are still stuff on that list that I cannot wait to get my hands on.
This post is a quick roundup of all the stuff I bought on this trip but if you would like me to do a more in depth review on any of the stuff mentioned below then please let me know in the comments below.
First up I will talk about the repurchases of some old favourites and then save the new stuff and the best stuff for last.
Mac Prolongwear Concealer
This is a really old favourite of mine but I have really only fell in love with it properly in the last number of months. It is a really amazing concealer. It is so lightweight on the skin but literally covers everything (if used correctly) and it lasts all day. I got this in shade NW20 for using under my eyes to cover dark circles. I plan to do a full review on this very soon so stay tuned.
Mac Studio Fix Fluid in NC20
Again, this is another long term favourite of mine. I love this foundation for its longwearing and high coverage yet natural looking finish. It goes on so effortlessly on the skin and lasts such a longtime on most skin types (really oily skin be sure to powder over this)
Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Shade Medium
Another repurchase for me is the MSF Natural in Shade Medium. I use this to set my foundation when I want a natural look to the skin. It gives a beautiful finish without looking too dewy. I don’t think this controls oil much so really oily skin people might want to use a different powder underneath this and use this powder just to give the skin a lovely finish. I am a big fan of these powders and love the look they give to the skin. I have also used the bronzer version of these and they give a beautiful glow to the skin and also add a natural colour.
Mac Prep & Prime Light Boost
I just “needed” this! This is Mac’s version of the YSL Touché Éclat highlighting pen. It comes in a few different colours, we both got the colour Light Boost. You use this on any parts of the face you want to lighten and highlight like under your eyes or the top of your cheekbones. It’s a really light consistency so it doesn’t disrupt you foundation or concealer.
Mac Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Base Lumiere
I needed a primer and because I was in Mac I decided to give one of theirs a go. I love an illuminating primer to add a glow to the skin so I was very excited to give this one a go and so far I am very impressed. It feels sticky almost on the skin but I love that feeling because I feel my foundation will stick to it making my foundation last longer. There are two shades in this I think and I opted for the yellow one as the Mac Makeup Artist advised that because I use a NC foundation that I should use this and anyone with NW skin should use the pinkish one.
Mac Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Springsheen
Another “must have” for me was the infamous Springsheen blush. This is a sheertone blush with some shimmer but the shimmer is very subtle on the cheeks. It is a peachy pink blush with some golden undertones. It really does resemble Nars Orgasm blush which is a cult classic. This colour is beautiful for Spring and Summer and I am going to get lots of use out of this one I am sure.
Mac Pigment in Tan
Something I (Anita) have lusted after for a very long time is Mac’s Tan pigment so when I was in Mac recently I decided I just had to have it. As the name suggests this is a tan colour which is right up my alley. I am neutral makeup obsessed and because I have blue eyes these type of colours compliment me more than grey undertones. I am always looking for products that will jazz up a neutral smoky eye and I definitely think I have found it in this product. Stay tuned as I am sure I will be doing a Face of the Day with this beauty very soon.
Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in Shy Girl and Cremesheen Glass in Flare for Fantasy
Yes you have guessed it. I love neutral lips too and Shy girl was on my wish list for as far back as I can remember so I finally picked it up and boy am I glad I did. If there are two shades of lippy that I love it’s nude and coral and this combines both very well as I would describe it as the perfect nude coral.
At Christmas time Mac had a beautiful collection out and I bought the Flair for Finery lippy which is a very nude lipstick but at the time they had lipgloss called Flare for Fantasy and ever since then I have wanted it but I never got around to picking it up so I chanced my arm when in their last to see if they had any in stock and I was lucky enough that they did and so that had to be added to my list of purchases pronto. When I bought it I wasn’t sure what I would wear it over as I like to layer lipgloss over lipsticks and it turns out that it was fab over Shy Girl so a nice win win situation. Alone I would describe this as a pinkish nude colour with a golden undertone, it is so pretty I think.
So there you have it, my most recent purchases from my beloved Mac…I was eyeing up other stuff, so I’m sure I will be back there soon enough, yes it’s an addiction 🙂
Thanks for reading, hopefully you got some inspiration if your heading in to buy some pretty things.
