Oh don’t they just look so pretty? The NYX Butter Gloss are like nothing I have tried before. They are simply delicious in every way. Let me explain…….
First off I have to say that the packaging of these really satsifies my love of all things pretty. The tube itself is quiet simplistic but the colour of the product with the matching lid is so cute. The applicator is a doe foot applicator so they are very easy and fuss free to apply.
The name Butter Gloss is a perfect fit. They feel sooo creamy and smooth on the lips and are not sticky at all but they do still give a decent shine to the lips. They have the most amazing scent that makes them a pleasure to apply. They smell like a really delicious desert that makes me want to lick my lips everytime I wear these.
On first application they are sheer looking which is lovely if you want to wear them over a lipstick but the colour can be built up and they look just as good worn alone as they do over lippie.
There are 12 shades in the range. I am the lucky owner of three of them and I think the colours I own are some of the most popular shades and I can see why. They are perfect for Spring and Summer and with the lunch of NYX Cosmetics coming to Ireland very soon I thought it was very appropraite to let you all know how beautiful these are so that you can run and grab them as soon as they hit shelves.
They are known as one of the best glosses on the market and I definitely think they have well earned this title. They feel so smooth and luxurious on the lips but don’t leave your lips sticky. Stickness personally doesn’t bother me but I know some people detest it and so opt for lipsticks instead. If you are not a fan of lipglosses but prefer a nice lippie then I urge you to try these as I know you will love them and will slowly but surely come to love lipgloss.
The three shades I own are:
- Apple Strudle which is a peachy coral shade. It is quiet sheer on the lips but it look stunning against a tanned skin or over an orange lipstick.
- Creme Brulee is a beautiful nude shade. It is stunning on most complexions as it is quiet a beige based nude and so doesn’t wash out paler skintones.
- Merengue is probably my favourite shade. It is a beautiful barbie pink with a lilac undertone. I was surprised at how much I loved this colour as I am more of a coral girly but this really is a beautiful shade and it is so flattery with a an. I think it gives a subtle twist to any makeup look and brings it right up to speed for the seasons ahead.
If I had to critique the glosses in any way I would say that they do not have exceptional staying power. I mean they last well but not as well as other glosses, but then again other glosses that last usually have that stickness about them and definitely are not as moisturising as these beauties. There is a vast shade range but alot of the undertones in the shades are quiet “milky” looking so paler skintones should be careful when choosing a shade as all the shades may not be so flattering on your skin. Luckily we will be able to see these in person very soon as they are due to launch this month in Ireland, can I get an AMEN!!!
At the moment they are available from the NYX UK website and cost £5 each. So reasonable! I bet you want them all now that you know how inexpensive they are??!! Check out ebay also as they often have great deals on these lipgloss there too.
Have you tried the NYX Butter Glosses? Will you be buying some of these soon? Let me know other NYX products that you love below because I am currently making a lust list for when they hit our shores.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a good day.
