Anita’s Picks: Top MAC Lipglosses

Top Picks Mac Lipgloss Body

Two things I love in my makeup world is MAC and Lipglosses so when I get a MAC Lipgloss I am ecstatic. I know shopping in MAC can be overwhelming and so I have decided to compile for you my top MAC lipglosses that I wear regularly and definitely think are worth forking out the cash for. I do have ALOT of MAC lipglosses so it was hard for me to narrow them down but I think I managed to pick the ones I feel are my true favourites and that you will all like. So let’s get started:

Mac Clear Lipglass

First up is the basic of basic…..the clear lipglass. This is simply just a clear lipgloss but it is like no other I have tried before. It is very sticky on the lips so hangs round for a lifetime which I adore. On its own it gives lips a sexy pout but over your favourite lipstick it transforms your lips into sexy vavavoom lips. Definitely one everyone should have in their lipgloss collection. I do get the whole thing about the stickiness giving your hair something to cling to and it can be impossible to kiss your lover without making them feel like they got kissed by a fish but trust me ladies it is worth it.

Mac BigBaby Plushglass

Big Baby

Next up is more of a Nude coloured gloss. Big Baby is one of MAC’s Plushglass lipglosses which are sheer lipglosses that have a beautiful high shine that almost has a two toned effect off it to make your lips even fuller. The smell of these lipglosses is amazing. They have a vanillaish scent off them and they leave a slight tingle on the lips to make them feel nice and plump. I am not a massive fan of plumping glosses but these just give a subtle tingle to the lips. There is something very moisturising about the Plushglass glosses and when I wear these I notice my lips look really healthy. Big Baby is a nude lipgloss that has a golden iridescence running through it. This is my favourite lipgloss to wear with a nude lipstick for the ultimate nude pout!

Mac Ample Pink

Ample Pink

Ample Pink is another Plushglass. I would describe this shade as a mauvey pink. It is one of those “your lips but better” shades, a very understated but pretty pink. For me this is a daily essential . I always have one in my handbag and one at home in my makeup stash. I use this on most brides on their wedding day as it is strong enough to show up in photos but doesn’t look too severe. It just looks so pretty and girly. The perfect pink shade.

Mac Cultured Lipglass

Cultured

Cultured is a more girly pink than Ample Pink. This is probably my favourite of all MAC Lipglosses. It is definitely a semi sheer pink lipgloss with a purple undertone and some stunning silver microshimmer. I know silver shimmer doesn’t sound very appealing but it’s beautiful on the lips. My favourite way to wear this is over MAC’s Creme Cup Lipstick. Delicious!! When applied heavily to the lips these lipglosses give a highly pigmented glass like look but when sheered out they give a subtle pretty sheen with a touch of colour.

Mac Pink Lemonade Lipglass

Pink Lemonade

I am a lover of coral lippies and so I couldn’t resist buying “Pink Lemonade”which is again another Lipglass. This for me is a coral pink shade, somewhat like the colour of a flamingo. I wear this one alone alot of the time to add some colour to my lips if I am not in the form to wear a lipstick. It is a great Spring/Summer shade and looks fab on all different skintones. Another favourite of mine.

Mac Pink Poodle Lipglass

Pink Poodle

Lastly is something a little more daring. Pink Poodle is a Fushia pink shade with some blue/silver sparkles running through it. Again another great lipgloss to wear alone or over a lipstick. I like to wear this over a nude lipstick to tone the lipgloss down but slightly jazz up a nude lip. It works really well worn alone or over something else.

Mac Lipglass swatcges

So there you have it. My favourite MAC Lipglosses. My favourite formula of MAC Lipgloss would be the Plushglass as I feel they make my lips look very full  and healthy but there are some Lipglass colours that are to die for so it is hard for me not to buy them. Overall the quality of MAC lipglosses are amazing. They are sticky as I mentioned before but I have become accustomed to this and accepted it because this stickiness gives them the long wearing finish that makes me want to buy and wear them over and over again. I do think the Lipglasses are stickier than the Plushglasses though so keep this in mind if you are not a fan of the tackiness. The packaging of the lipglosses in general is great as they are small and compact and last a long time (although the name does wear off the front of them). They have a great doe foot applicator too which makes application a doddle. The clear lipglass however comes in a tube and I am not a fan of this at all as it leaks everywhere so I need to be very careful how I store this one.

The Lipglass are €18 to buy and the Plushglass are €21.50, some may think this is pricey but I definitely think they are worth the money and will continue to add to my collection.
