Being a smokey eye kinds gal I always love nude lips as lets face it nothing screams sexy lady more than a nude lip and smoldering eyes. I don’t however like the foundation looking lips. I think there is a time and place to wear them and usually it is not on an everyday basis, it is very high fashion and supermodelesk, so I think it is best left to the glossy pages of Harper Bazzaar of Vogue (just my opinion though). Today I will bring you my favourite nude lipsticks and glosses. I have picked the ones I use and love the most but I also chose one for all budgets so that everyone can get to try one out.
First up is a firm favourite of mine. It is Inglot’s Lipstick in number 259. This is definitely one of the brands most popular shades and I know the reason why. It really is a true nude shade but without making the person wearing it look almost dead as it is so pale. Instead it has a slight sheen to it, without looking super glossy so it creates a beautiful pout that is far from corps like. I love how this lipstick wears, it lasts quiet a long time on the lips and doesn’t cake on the lips like some other nude lipsticks. This is a cream consistency so nice and hydrating on the lips. These lippies cost under €15 which is a great price I think!
If I don’t want my lips to look too nude I tend to put Inglot’s Sleek Cream gloss in shade 100 over the 259 lippie. This gloss is a peachy colour but when applied over this lipstick it creates a really nice peachy nude shade. I love this combination.
Next up is one I have loved since it was launched and have used up about three of them since then. The Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butters in Creme Brulee is such a beautiful lipstick. It is the perfect nude shade that I guarantee you will give you that sexy Pamela Anderson pout instantly while at the same time the moisturising ingredients will keep your lips looking and feeling hydrated and kissably soft! These Lip Butters cost €11.20 and are available nationwide.
An old favourite of mine and probably one of the first ever nudes I bought is the Boots No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick in 05 Divine which costs €12.75. This is more of a brownish nude than the others and I love to pair this with a really strong bronzed cheek to create that J Lo look. It is very moisturising on the lips too which I love because there is nothing worse than chapped lips, especially if you are wearing nude lips.
The bargain of the bunch but yet still a love of mine would have to go to the Boots Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick in Rose Petal. The name is quiet misleading as you would expect to see a rosy shade when you open the packaging but instead you see a really stunning coral nude shade. This is always in my handbag and in fact I have one in my car too. They do not last really long on the lips but for only €2.49 what more could you want?! If you are a fan of nude/peach lips give this a go, you won’t look back.
On now to a more glossy high shine finish which can add extra vavavoom to a nude lip and really make it stand out. NYX’s Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee is another fab product. It is so smooth and creamy on the lips and soooo comfortable to wear. Again this is a nude but with a slight shade of peach to it. This is my favourite type of nude lip as it still adds some colour to the face. These are not sticky at all which is so strange as they are so glossy looking. I just love these. These cost under €7 so another bargain.
Lastly is probably my all time favourite nude lip product. Nars Chelsea Girls Lip Lacquer is a really lovely gloss. It is highly pigmented, leaves a gorgeous sheen to the lips and lasts a very long time for a gloss. What more could you ask for? The packing itself can be a pain when you don’t have a lip brush to hand because it is in a jar so dipping your finger isn’t the most hygienic. I love this product though because you don’t need a lipstick under it to intensify the colour, it is already the perfect shade of nude. These lip lacquers cost €25.
So there you have it. My most worn nude lippies. What are your favourtie nude lip products? I would love to hear your thoughts. I didn’t include any Mac lippies as I will do a seperate one on them as I have and love too many.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you found a new favourite lipstick or gloss.
