REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade

I recently posted a picture to my Facebook page showing my brow and liner essentials when it occurred to me that I never did a review for you all on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. This has changed the way I do my brows and allows me to get a natural yet sculpted brow in seconds.

anastaisia dipbrow 1So what is this product all about. Basically a pomade has a gel-mousse consistency. It resembles a gel liner in some respects with a lighter texture.  Because of the gel like finish this product is waterproof and lasts all day once applied without fading or wearing off during the day. It is also tinted so it gives you colour and alot of definition to the brows. Since getting my hands on this product I use nothing but this on my brows.

nima brush

I find this product so simple to use. I have very thin, barely there brows and it glides over them perfectly. I find the best way to use this is to take a tiny amount on an angled brush, my brush of preference for this product is the Nima Brush Angled Liner/Brow Brush from the 5 piece Elite Eye Detail Kit (review here) as it is synthetic which makes it perfect for applying gel products. Firstly, after brushing through my brows I define the shape of my brow by marking out the shape from underneath. I then do the same on the top from my arch all the way back to the tail of the brow. I then dip my brush in again taking another tiny amount of product and from where the arch begins I press the product into my brows creating definition and depth to the brow. Note I am leaving the front of my brow empty at the moment. Once I am happy with the intensity of the arch and wing I then DO NOT take anymore product on my brush but instead I use what is left on the brush and simply press that into the front of my brow. I find a brow that goes from light at the front to dark in the arch and tail looks a million times more natural than a heavy scouse like brow.

Anastasia dipbrow step 1

First I define the shape of my brow from below the brow and then above.

I then take more product and fill in from the arch back to the tail leaving the front free

Using the remainder of the product on my brush I then fill in the front of my brow

One brow done and one not done! I also cleaned up the tail with a little concealer as it was sloppy looking in earlier photos.

I love using this product because I find you can get a really natural brow or you can build on it to create a very dramatic and defined brow. It can also be used as a gel liner which is also stunning and long wearing. It really is a great, reliable and long lasting product.

I also find this controls any fly away brow hairs during the day. I wouldn’t have bushy brows so thicker brows may not find it as effective in this department.

I bought the shade Dark brown. I think this is a great shade because it can be used light or dark depending on your preference. I have used this shade on people with brown and black brows and it looks great on both. It is more intense for brown brows and it is great for just adding definition to black brows. For full brows if you have dark hair I would opt for the shade ebony instead.

In the past I would use either a powder to define my brows and a wax to set them or for a more intense brow I would use a Mac gel liner. Now I don’t ever reach for those products for myself. I just use this products for my brows for everyday and every occassion. It is my favourite brow product of all time and that is saying something.

This can be purchased online from Cult beauty and it costs £15 which is around €19. It is available in eight different shades on their website. I have this months and I have only used the tinniest amount so I know this will last me a very long time.

Have you tried any brow products from Anastasia Beverly Hills? What are your go to brow products?

Thanks a million for stopping by and hope you enjoyed my review.

Have a lovely day

Love Anita xxxx

[…] STEP SIX: Next I quickly fill in my brows. To do this I basically draw a line under my brows and then fill them in to give them fullness. I used the middle powder from the Eylure brow palette in dark brown for this. You can see my step by step brow routine here. […]
