The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel

Did you know that UV and pollutants from the environment we live in can be the cause of up to 80% of the damage and aging our skin experiences daily?! Well, that is what studies by the ‘Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology’ have shown. The Body Shop, as ever, have come up with some products to try help us fight these nasties.

The Drops of Youth Liquid Peel is exactly what the name suggests, a liquid peel. It is an exfoliator, that will gently trap and lift away dead skin, impurities and pollutants from the skin .

It is a liquid that is applied to dry skin and rubbed in for 20 seconds until little clumps form. I found my skin looked renewed from 1st go. It is the most satisfying feeling when the peel turns to clumps. You know the joy of a peel off face mask? Yep, same feeling.

I do find it a bit difficult to remove some of the clumps. It’s like they stick to the skin and I have to pull them from my skin. I also found that the clumps formed more in certain areas of my face. I first thought this was down to the fact that I had more dry skin in certain areas but I later discovered it is actually depending on where the most product is applied. Some parts of my face where getting better results than others. So now, I separate my face into 4 sections and work on each area for 20 seconds before moving on to the next.

Make sure to apply over a sink  as the clumps can get a tad messy at times. Also be sure to remove it thoroughly and immediately once the clumps form to avoid any irritation

Because this takes less than 2 minutes from start to finish it is a super quick, yet effective way of exfoliating. It isn’t as intense as the peels you will get in a skin clinic but the results are visibly noticeable.

As this is not a physical exfoliator (the ones with the beads) this is less aggressive on the skin and less likely to cause irritation to anyone sensitive to friction. However, on first use, I did find I was slightly pink afterwards. It did subside after a short period but it is worth pointing out as some people may experience sensitivities.

I’ve heard of certain skin types (especially normal to dry skins) having slight irritations with this. Oily skin would love this I’m sure.

I am using this around 2 times a week over the past few months and I find it is a great addition to my skincare routine. I find the more I use it the more results I am getting from it and the easier I find it to use. It was very tricky to begin with!!

The packaging is really great and makes dispensing the right amount super easy. I also really enjoy the scent of this product, fresh without being overpowering.

This is 100% Vega and like all products from The Body Shop, it is not tested on our fury friends.

It is so important that we use an SPF daily, but in particular after using any type of exfoliator. The Drops of Youth range does have the Youth Fresh Emulsion with SPF 20. This could be a great option for use along side this product. I will be sure to review this at a later point.

My skin feels silky smooth, refreshed and looks good after using this. It does take some getting use to though.

As you only need 2 pumps for a full face application and the bottle is a huge 145ml, this is going to last an age.

This will set you back €26.95 which for me is a very good price.

Have you tried the Drops of Youth Liquid Peel yet? What are your thoughts on the product. Don’t forget to comment and rate the product below.

This gets a 4 out of 5 rating from me loosing marks for the sensitivity it can cause to certain skin types but not nine and the fussiness of the product at the beginning.

Thanks for stopping by.
