Wet n Wild 2018 Collection + Mini Review

It’s no secret that Wet n Wild is one of my favourite budget brands. For the most part they offer high quality, high end comparisons that won’t break the bank.

Today, I want to give you a quick and precise (if I can manage not to waffle too much) run down of my top picks from the new launches as well as a tiny review on each product. Here we go…

Let’s start with the highlighters (cause we all know I love a good highlighter)…

My favourite powder highlight of all time is the megaglo Highlighting powder in Precious Petals. This is my perfect highlight. Its so pigmented, natural looking and lasts all day long. However, this shade was too dark for paler skins so Wet n Wild have launched their Blossom Glow which is a cooler toned pink highlight which to me looks more frosty than Precious Petals.

I have tried this on my own skin and its not great on my cheeks but I love it as an inner corner or brow bone highlight. It does look super on paler skins though. This is €5.25 and if you are picking this up, do yourself a favour and get Precious Petals too. You wont be disappointed.

Staying with highlighters, the highlight (see what I did there) of this collection is the megalglo Hello Halo Liquid Highlighters. These come in 4 shades. They are so pigmented but just melt into the skin and actually feel very comfortable to wear. Sometimes liquid highlighters can be a tad choppy because they can contain glitter but these work a treat.

They can be used on their own, on top of powder or added to your fave foundation or skincare for an all over glow. I also like to tap some in the centre of my lip, after lipstick for a beautiful highlight. The shades I have are Halo,Goodbye which is the perfect frosted pink highlight while Goddess Glow gives that more bronzed look to the skin so perfect with a tan or on the body. These are only €5.95 for 15ml. Because of the doefoot applicator you will literally only need a small amount at a time so these will definitely last you a long time.

Wet n Wild have also launched two setting sprays. One for a matte finish (PhotoFocus Matte Finish Setting Spray) and one for a more hydrated glow (Photofocus Natural Finish Setting Spray). I have only tried the Natural finish one and I do like it. My skin feels lovely after it and the spray top distributes the product very evenly over the entire face.  I also like the size of the bottle as it would be handy for travel. I just don’t like the smell of it though, its a tad bit chemically for me. These sprays are €5.95 for 45ml.

Another new release is the MegaCushion Color Correctors. They come in two shades, a green to help reduce redness and a yellow to neutralise dullness. They come with a little puff that you can push into the cushion to pick up product and then apply to the areas you want to correct.

I have the green one and it is very pale for me but I am enjoying it under foundation to reduce my red cheeks. I also do feel like the formulation of these is very decent and the staying power is pretty great. These again are €5.95 for 8g of product.

Now on to brow products. I love a slanted, thicker brow pencil as I feel they get the job done much quicker. I did feel, up to now that Wet n Wild was lacking a tad in the brow department. However, their newest launch, the Ultimate Brow Retractable Brow Pencil is brilliant. It comes with a spoolie on one end and a pencil on the other. The slanted angel allows you to get good precision but also when used flatter you can cover a decent amount of brow. They come in 3 shades and my shade is Medium Brown. This isn’t oily or glossy looking on the brows (like some!) so it gives a very natural finish. I am very impressed with these in general. The shades available are Taupe, Ash Brown and Medium Brown and they cost €2.95 (Bargain!!, just saying).

Wet n Wild have also launched some new lip liners. The Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liners come in 6 shades. These are so comfortable to use. They are retractable (don’t need a sharpener) , HIGHLY pigmented and just glide over the lips.

They are so moisturising. Now, although being moisturising is great, sometimes it can mean that they don’t last as long on the lips as other liners. This is unfortunately the case with these too but I have to say I am not too bothered. For €3.95 you cant really go wrong. The shades I have are Bare To Comment, Think Flamingo, Never Petal Down and Red The Scene.

The Megalast Lip Colors are some of my favourite budget lipsticks (actually wait, they are my absolute favourite). They have recently launched 4 new shades to the range (one is BLACK) and I have two of them.

I love the shade Never Nude and Rose The Matter. Both perfect, everyday shades. The quality of these lippies in unreal and at only €2.95 you can have one in every shade if you want.

The last of the new products that I want to chat about is the Mega Slim Skinny Mascara. Personally I am not a fan of this for the upper lashes but its pretty great for the lower lash line. It grabs every last hair and makes my lashes look full and fluttery. At only €4.95 it is definitely something I would happily spend money on, even if it is only for my lower lashes. This comes in one shade, black.

Wet n Wild have also repackaged and reformulated all their eyeshadow singles and palettes. Some of my favourite palettes are Nude Awakening which is a 10 pan palette (€8.25) and Hooked on Vinyl and Walking on Eggshells which are their 4 pan palettes. (€3.95). The quality of these shadows isn’t bad at all for the price. I get so much use out of these three palettes in particular.

Another favourite of mine from Wet n Wild is the Photo Focus Foundation €6.95 and they have recently added a darker shade to the range. Desert Beige is pretty dark to be honest, but I would imagine it will work great for anyone that likes a darker tan. The usual shade I use is Golden Beige and you can read my review of this here.

So, what do you think of the latest launches, new shades and reformulations by Wet n Wild? What is your favourite product from the new collection and also in general from the Wet n Wild brand??

Thanks for stopping by and for reading ’til the end.

PS. Some of the products mentioned above were gifted to me at the launch of the 2018 Collection. However, I loved the products so much that I went out and bought lots of the products myself in the shades I thought best suited me. That has to say something right?!
