Do you ever feel out of alignment? Like something is just not clicking with a certain aspect of your life??? I have felt like this time and time again about my blog, Adorn.ie. I often wonder why. Recently it has become apparent to me the reasons why I feel this way so often. I feel it’s time to do something about it.
Let’s start at the beginning.
What is the definition of ‘Adorn’. Adorn means to ‘make more beautiful or attractive’. And that is exactly why I chose the name for my website. At the beginning I solely focused on beauty related content. Making us feel and look our best from the outside, in. I almost feel ridiculous saying that now as it feels very superficial and almost naive in some respects. However, it served and still does serve it’s purpose here on my website and on my social media platforms.
I am a genuine makeup and beauty lover. I have loved everything beauty related since my teens. It is something that will always be a big part of my life, my happy place and hence a huge part of Adorn.ie.
However, over the past number of years in my personal life I have concentrated more on an inside, out approach instead of the outside, in I had focused on for many years. I concentrated on meditation, healing, positivity, gratitude, kindness and anything else that felt right to me. This change in mindset has transformed my life and even the people around me have benefited from it (at least I hope they have).
Where to next?
This is where the slight change in direction for Adorn.ie comes in.
I will still of course keep up with my beauty content. In fact I have a huge amount of content planned for this side of my blog BUT I do want to introduce more wellness content.
My true passion is helping people to become the best version of themselves and to find a way of living a life they feel happy, content and grateful for.
So, Adorn.ie will no longer only focus on Adorning the exterior. It will now also focus on enhancing and nurturing the inside, our beautiful souls.
How exactly this will happen is still in the early stages, BUT, you can expect a lot more content like my recent posts on ‘How to be more present‘ or ‘Five Changes to a Happier you‘.
I also want to share with you how I live certain aspects of my life and the rituals and habits I have picked up along the way to help me to live a more fulfilled, positive life.
I don’t have all the answers of course but that is not what it is about. It is simply about giving this space some attention and emphasis and to give people a platform to grow and develop.
Exciting times ahead
We all need guidance sometimes. Heck, I tend to need it at least three times a week! So, if I can create a space where people have a reference point they can go to when they need it then I have accomplished what I set out to do.
So, what do you think? I really believe this could be something very special if we allow it to be . I will hold the space for people to gather information and to connect with like minded people and the rest will follow.
From January 2020 ,we are now adorning ourselves both externally and internally which will bring so much positive force to our daily lives.
I am very excited to see how this flourishes.
It is amazing. Since I decided to make this shift I am so much more creative and want to do even more beauty content whereas before I felt I had a block that I couldn’t shift. When you do what makes you happy other things improve as a result.
Here’s to an amazing 2020 for us all. I hope the year is everything you want and more.

January 2, 2020 at 10:49 amWell done Anita. The wellness aspect has made your blog more relevant for me. I have found that looking after the internal makes me more enthusiastic about all aspects of my self care Including how I look.
